Services
Aims to help separating couples reach agreements that are in the best interests of their children. This may be an alternative to going to Family Court.
Support may include
- Caseworker Support: Provide you with culturally sensitive support throughout the process
- Information: Provide you with information on the FDR process, rights of children and parentsโ responsibilities
- Referrals: Help to get you linked with appropriate services such as community support, counselling and legal advice
- Individual and Joint Sessions: Meet with an FDR practitioner to gather information and develop a parenting plan
- Interpreter: When required, it can be used to ensure all clients understand the process and what is being discussed
Funding
Government grants and community support.
Eligibility & Access
- Culturally and Linguistically Diverse parents (at least one parent) who have separated or are in the process of separating.
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander parents (at least one parent) who have separated or are in the process of separating.
- Children under the age of 18 years.
- Where there has been a history of Family and Domestic Violence.
This service also extends to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander grandparents and family who wish to reconnect with children.
